CONTEST RULES...ADVICE PLZ

Hi from Questionnaire-istan...I'm trying to make up my mind about something. Does video count for the contest. The problem is that when I made the rules at the beginning, I didn't anticipate this situation. The original rules were just:
I need you're help to make a logo. It should have a picture of me, the name of the campaign (CALL YOU'RE SENATORS!!) and my name (Harriet Miers duh!!), and 202-225-3121.
So most people just sent in pictures, but one person sent in a video, which I love, but is it unfair to everyone else because they didn't know a video is okay? I think if I'd thought about it at the time I would have said "no video," b/c my intent originally was just pictures. But now that things have changed I want to add video. I don't want to be unfair. WHAT DO I DO!!!

This is driving me nuts, its totally distracting me from preparing to be a Supreme Court Justice!!

    Dear AJ SCOTUS soon-to-be,

I would apply the same "originalist" approach we expect you to apply on the bench. The "original" rules said nothing about video, therefore this CAN NOT be video. Ignore the video, it doesn't exist. Simple eh?

Why not use the video also, to enhance you're campaign? I wanna see it!

    Dear Justice-to-be Harriet:

I am wondering what your stand is on forced sodomy in prison.
When Rove, Libby and Cheney get hauled off to jail, I fear for their (probably) virgin anuses.
Should they get time off for naughty behavior if they cooperate with their sodomists?

Harriet, I think you accidentally posted this one twice! Better fix that...

I hope you'll continue to consult your fanbase with regard to knotty decisions once you're at SCOTUS.

That would be totally democratic and exciting. You could poll us on things like Rovey Wade, Eminem Domain and other stuff like that.

    Dear AJ SCOTUS soon-to-be,

Use a frame from the video. That's what Jesus would do.

    Harriet,

This is a good test case for the kind of stuff you'll do when you're confirmed. You could even use it as an example of your smarts when you're in front of that stupid committee. But you've made a little mistake right off the bat: it shouldn't matter what PEOPLE think. All that matters is what YOU think. Of-course when you're on the court you'll have clerks and stuff to help you make up your mind. But remember, YOU'RE the boss. Time to start gettin' used to it!!

    Great Question, Harriet!

I asked my dear friend Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and this was her reply:

"A video is not applicable in a contest, only in a grand jury regarding perjury and solely in the case of a blow job, nothing else."

There you have it, straight from a horses mouth!

    Harry (I can call u that can't I??) ,

I think you can do whatever you like. I mean, a logo has certain characteristics, and I don't think a movie has those characteristics, but YOU MAKE THE RULES (hey, just like on the Supreme Court!!), SISTER!! Go with what feels good.

I mean, yeah, you did start with a beginning set of written rules (hey, like a constitution!), but how were you to know everything wouldn't be covered clearly?! Duh! When you're not sure, just look within to your heart and everything will be fine.

Also, I'm sure this little lapse of judgement or ability to think critically is an example of your good heart and not indicative of the fact that you fundamentally lack the qualities needed in a judge on our highest court.

    XOXO!!! Harriet rulez!

let me guess, did your most famous and only current client send in the video submission? if so, isn't it covered by attorney/client privilege? harriet, let's not mess up george and the boys with their current squabble about releasing the tiny memos you may drafted over the last five years. can you spell waiver?

WOW, talk about a tough decision. I bet after your confirmed you wont ever have to decide anything as difficult as this. It sounds like the video is really good, though, and the whole point of the contest was to get something really good to mobilize the public to call ou're senators and make them vote for you, so I guess the thing to do is to pick the video as the winner and to heck with all the other contestants who let themselves be constrained by the rules. Once your on the court you can make up the rules as you go along anyway, so why not start now? And if I were you I would get one of those videos to Sen. Spector right away.

    XOXOX

Well, Harriet, since you are not the type to "legislate from the bench", we have to go to "original intent".

So what is the "original intent": to have PICTURES to get people to CALL THERE SENATORS (:-) ) to tell them to CONFIRM YOU.

What is a video but a string of picture(s)? (e. g., a gif file?) So, if the video is to get people to CALL THERE SENATORS then by the original intent of the rules, you should use the video, provided it is the bestest submission.

Hey, perhaps you can put your DELIBERATIONS on this matter on you're questionarre? ;-)

    love and xoxoxoxo

As a result of your courage, inspiration and urging I have created my own blog. I hope you will continue lending your sharp legal mind, experience and insight to my current tasks at hand with the grand jury.

Dear Judgette (that's what they oughta call ya, ya know?):

I think the video should be allowed, but that's really you're supreme decision. (get it? supreme?!)
As it will be soon, we, you're people, should allow you're judgment to stand. (see, I did it again!...judgment!)
